Miami, FL — Dr. Lisa Esserman has joined the Diagnostic Center for Women. Dr. Esserman has over 20 years of experience in the field of breast imaging. Dr. Esserman attended the University of Miami, where she received her medical degree in 1981.  She completed her internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in 1982, followed by her radiology residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in 1985 (where she was Chief Resident).  Dr. Esserman completed an imaging fellowship in 1986 at Mount Sinai Medical Center, where she then became a staff attending Radiologist. She was the Director of  Breast Imaging at the Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Center from 1995-2007. She has trained numerous residents and fellows and has published extensively in the field of breast imaging.

Dr. Esserman joins Dr. Carrie Horst, Medical Director, and Dr. Fawaaz Salman, Director of Ob-Gyn Ultrasound.

The Diagnostic Center for Women offers: digital mammography, obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound, bone densitometry, amniocentesis, breast biopsy (ultrasound & stereotactic), breast cyst aspiration, chorionic villus sampling, nuchal translucency, sonohysterogram, and cryoablation of fibroadenomas. The Center offers a comfortable and tranquil setting designed for women only, using the most advanced technology available.
