  • Contract Negotiations: Femwell’s expertise is in negotiating contracts for single specialty group practices. Under the group concept we are able to speak with one powerful voice to managed care organizations and negotiate optimal rates with payers. In addition to experience in negotiating rates, we look closely at contract language that can affect practice revenues or operational “hassle factor”. In addition, Femwell’s experience in the intricate process of contract negotiations, combined with direct personal contacts with key decision makers at the major insurance companies, helps ease apprehension during the negotiation process.

 

  • Management of contracts: Femwell has established open lines of communication with managed care plans that allow us to proactively monitor claims payments to ensure reimbursement is made in accordance with contracted rates. We facilitate claims “projects” that resolve underpayments and erroneous denials. We also maintain current fee schedules to guarantee the allowed rates are current in the billing system. Historically, we have found that most physician offices, without this type of service, lose an additional 10% or more from contracted rates because they lack the ability to properly monitor and contest payments.

  • Refunds: We remove additional work at the practice level by preparing all insurance refunds for the practices. Once the practice administrator has approved a refund, a signed authorization is faxed to the central office. We will research the refund and take all necessary steps to remedy the claim.

  • Credentialing: For the initial go-live date, and on an on-going basis, our managed care department will assure that all physicians are credentialed and “linked” to managed care plans as needed.
